ITINERARY HIGHLIGHTS:

Inverness (Invergordon), Scotland

Inverness is a city in the glorious Scottish Highlands. Teeming with bagpipe players and enthusiasts thanks to the city's annual Northern Meeting in September, Inverness also boasts a diverse music scene. Gaelic was the native language until the turn of the 19th century.

Portree (Isle of Skye)

The landscape is dramatic?even a bit moody, with the Cuillin Range in the background?but outdoorsy kids will have a blast on the Isle of Skye. Plenty of water sports are available, and you'll also find great hiking and even pony rides. Portree, the largest town, makes a great base for exploring this striking island.

Belfast

Belfast is a thriving, fast-growing metropolitan center thats full of surprises. The city played a key role in the 19th centurys Industrial Revolution, when it was the worlds biggest linen producer. It also had a reputation for ship-building ? the Titanic was built here. Learn more about this claim to fame when you visit the Titanic Quarter and the citys Titanic Belfast attraction. Then, grab lunch on the terrace overlooking Edwardian City Hall, one of the best examples of Belfasts great architecture. Ireland cruises offer you the opportunity to walk among exotic trees in the botanical garden, and reinvent your idea of Irish cuisine at one of the citys upscale, seafood-focused eateries.

Dun Laoghaire

The coastal suburb of Dún Laoghaire is popular for strolls on the East Pier, and locally caught fish and chips. The National Maritime Museum of Ireland has nautical art and artefacts inside a 19th-century sailors' church, while the harbour is a busy hub for fishing, water sports and cruises.

Ringaskiddy/Cork

The real capital of Ireland? thats what the locals call Cork, a university city in the countrys southwest. In the city center, situated on an island in the River Lee, youll find one of Irelands best foodie scenes, with laneways and streets filled with local watering holes and high-end restaurants. Cruise to Ireland to check out the the prison-turned-museum Cork City Gaol, visit Blarney Castle and kiss its eponymous stone, and sample local culinary specialities in the English Market.
