7 Nights Alaska
Description
Itinerary Overview
Day 1 |
Vancouver
Dramatic mountains and soaring skyscrapers kiss the sea in this booming British Columbian metropolis. Known as the "Hollywood of the North," Vancouver is stunningly beautiful and richly diverse - highlighted by dense forests, verdant parks, intimate coffeehouses and seaside markets. |
|
Day 2 |
Cruising Inside Passage
This 1,000-mile long Alaskan seaway is a photographer's paradise. Calm, protected waters play host to sea lions, sea otters and migrating whales, and beaches and coves provide sanctuaries for moose, deer and bears. Bald eagles soar the skies overhead. |
|
Day 3 |
Tracy Arm
Tracy Arm Fjord extends over 30 miles alongside the wilderness of Tongass National Forest. Sailing through this deep and narrow passage delivers some of the most breathtaking scenery you'll find in Alaska. See active glaciers carved into 7,000-foot-tall mountain peaks and plunging waterfalls burrowed into evergreen-clad cliffs. Glimpse native wildlife and watch deep blue icebergs float past the ship. |
Arrival : 9:00 AM |
Day 3 |
Juneau
Alaska's capital city features luring scenery that often seems surreal. Tracy Arm Fjord, Mendenhall Glacier, the Juneau Icefield and Glacier Bay National Park offer unparalleled glacier viewing, and The Tongass Rainforest climate boasts lush terrain and captivating wildlife. |
Arrival : 1:30 PM |
Day 4 |
Skagway
The Spirit of the Klondike Gold Rush echoes throughout this historic town. Turn of the century shops and saloons are intermingled with false-fronted buildings and boardwalks, and the deep waters of Taiya Inlet and the rugged Coast Mountains enchantingly frame the entire town. |
Arrival : 7:00 AM |
Day 5 |
Cruising Glacier Bay
Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve contains some of the world's most impressive tidewater glaciers. For centuries, it laid buried beneath a mile-thick ice sheet. This ice has retreated over the last two centuries, exhuming a raw, misty realm of steep-sided fjords. |
Arrival : 7:00 AM |
Day 6 |
Ketchikan
Located in the Tongass National Forest and close to Misty Fjords National Monument, Ketchikan is the "Salmon Capital of the World" and Alaska's 1st City. The town's colourful past is evident in the Indian villages and totem poles that grace its land. |
