7 Nights Caribbean, Southern
Description
Itinerary Overview
| Day 1 |
Fort de France
The capital of Martinique (and the largest city in the French West Indies) possesses a flavor more reminiscent of Paris than the Caribbean. Turn-of-the-century buildings housing boutiques and cafes, a public market and narrow streets are proof of this |
|
| Day 2 |
Pointe-a-Pitre Guadeloupe
Pointe-à-Pitre is a city on the island of Grande-Terre, in Guadeloupe, a French-governed archipelago in the Caribbean. Its known for its lively markets, like the Marché de la Darse, where fishermen sell their catch from boats at the harbor. Cafes and colonial homes cluster around the grassy Place de la Victoire. The Saint-John Perse Museum features 19th-century Creole interiors and exhibits on the poet Alexis Léger. |

| Day 3 |
Castries St. Lucia
The capital and commercial centre of Saint Lucia has been devastated by fire several times. Its lush, dense forests, lovely Marigot Bay and charming French atmosphere are all impossible to forget. Historic buildings remain, as does the harbour derived from the crater of an extinct volcano. |
Arrival : 8:00 AM |
| Day 4 |
Bridgetown
Barbados' capital and primary seaport was founded in 1628 by 64 British settlers. A significant amount of historical landmarks are located in Bridgetown including the Parliament Building, home to a 355-year-old Westminster style democratic tradition, and the Synagogue, the oldest Jewish building in the Western Hemisphere. |
Arrival : 8:00 AM |
| Day 5 | At Sea | |
| Day 6 |
Kingstown
Kingstown is the capital of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The port city is known for its Botanical Gardens, founded in 1765 and home to tropical plants and aviaries. On a ridge above the bay, the 1806 Fort Charlotte offers panoramic views of the archipelago. The city center has 19th-century churches such as St. Mary's Cathedral. The lively Kingstown Market sells local produce. Popular Villa Beach is nearby. |
Arrival : 9:00 AM |
| Day 7 |
St. George's Grenada
If variety is the spice of life, then Grenada is the taste of the tropics. The intoxicating aromas of nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves fill the air wherever you go. Take your pick of 45 sun-kissed beaches to lounge on, or hit the jungle-covered mountain range for more rugged adventures. Stroll through the 125-year-old Sendall Tunnel to reach the Carenage waterfront promenade. Cruise to Grenada and grab a seat at an open-air café and admire the steep streets lined with colonial buildings and colorful 18th-century warehouses. And holding true to its nickname of Spice Island, you'll find several spice plantations and estates here too. |
