Day 1 Darwin

The capital city of Australias Northern Territory, Darwin delivers more than enough rugged natural beauty to earn its namesake: none other than renowned naturalist Charles Darwin. This port city on Australias Top End ? the lushly forested northern tip of the province ? is known for its year-round tropical climate. After you take in the ocean views at Cullen Bay Marina, cool down inside the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory. Here, youll find collections on Cyclone Tracy, Darwins World War II history and indigenous and Australian art. If youre looking to venture farther out with your Darwin cruise, its just over an hour to the Kakadu rainforest or the waterfalls and plunge pools of Litchfield National Park.

 
Day 2 Cobourg Peninsula

The Cobourg Peninsula is located 350 kilometres (217 mi) east of Darwin in the Northern Territory, Australia. It is deeply indented with coves and bays, covers a land area of about 2,100 square kilometres (811 sq mi), and is virtually uninhabited with a population ranging from about 20 to 30 in five family outstations, but without any notable settlement or village. It is separated from Croker Island in the east by Bowen Strait, which is 2.5 kilometres (1.3 nmi; 1.6 mi) wide in the south and up to 7 kilometres (3.8 nmi; 4.3 mi) in the north, and 8.5 kilometres (4.6 nmi; 5.3 mi) long. In the west, it is separated from Melville Island by Dundas Strait

The Wessel Islands are an island group in the Northern Territory of Australia. Marchinbar Island is the largest of the group. They extend in a more or less straight line from the Napier Peninsula of Arnhem Land, to the northeast into the Arafura Sea.

 
Day 6 Gulf of Carpentaria

Is a large, shallow sea enclosed on three sides by northern Australia and bounded on the north by the eastern Arafura Sea (the body of water that lies between Australia and New Guinea). The northern boundary is generally defined as a line from Slade Point, Queensland (the northwestern corner of Cape York Peninsula) in the northeast, to Cape Arnhem on the Gove Peninsula, Northern Territory (the easternmost point of Arnhem Land) in the west.

The Torres Strait is a strait which lies between Australia and the Melanesian island of New Guinea. It is approximately 150 km wide at its narrowest extent. To the south is Cape York Peninsula, the northernmost extremity of the Australian mainland. To the north is the Western Province of Papua New Guinea.

Forbes Islands is a national park in Queensland, Australia, 1,962 km northwest of Brisbane in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Queensland and is located about 40 km North East of Iron Range National Park and Lockhart River in the Cape Weymouth area in the Coral Sea just off the small locality of Portland Roads.

 
Day 10 Flinders Island, Tas

Flinders Island is the largest of Tasmania?s islands and home to Strzelecki National Park. The island offers sapphire waters, untouched beaches, a rich variety of flora and fauna, rocky ridges and towering peaks as a backdrop to your hiking, or kayaking. Energetic hikers may like to scale the granitic beauties of the Strzelecki Peaks to experience spectacular vistas, while strollers might enjoy a shorter meander through shaded casuarina woodlands and coastal heath to secluded bays.

 
Day 11 Lizard Island

Lizard Island is 2,471-acre national park covering that includes 24 unspoiled beaches and the famous Blue Lagoon. The waters surrounding the island offer some of the most spectacular game fishing and diving experiences in the world.

 
Day 12 Cairns

While it is usually a jump-off port for the Great Barrier Reef, Cairns can also become a destination for destination for trekking, discovering secret islands along the reef, exploring the Daintree Rainforest and even gliding through the rainforest canopy. Cairns also is home to the Esplanade, which is a swimming lagoon where you can freely bask under the sun as you enjoy the panoramic views of the Trinity Inlet.
